Can you even say “Hermitage” without a quiet reverence sweeping the room and a sudden urge to genuflect? I certainly can’t! So when you combine one of Northern Rhône’s most beloved producers with the sacred ground of Hermitage Hill (and more specifically, the iconic plots of Le Méal and Les Greffieux), and then bring it strutting like a primed and pristine peacock into the Last Bottle Universe…things are GUARANTEED to get a little nuts. 

But hey, we LOVE a little madness — particularly when it’s Syrah, from one of the best places on Earth to grow it, for a simply bewildering price of UNDER $60!!! I mean, can I get a “HUZZAH”, good people? 

Bad news first…even LESS of this than the Côte-Rôtie, so FLY to those carts and don’t you dare miss out on this twice! The heady perfume! The silky, violets, and Tahitian vanilla, with lush blackberries, and baked plums, drizzled with milk chocolate, and sprinkled delicately with its ultra-fine baby powder-esque tannins…DANG, GINA! This “Red Spinning Wheel” has me absolutely ROLLING, and while that “Divine” Côte-Rôtie was all about old-school power, rusticity, and primordial depth, this baby is elevated elegance, with a spider’s silk level of refinement, and the sort of magical elixir character that sets you to floating a full six inches off the ground, with all of life’s distractions immediately forgotten. It is TRANSCENDANT, y’all — and we got it at the best…price…ANYWHERE!
