Vaudesir (voh-des-eer) is all about that Kimmeridgian limestone – a compacted ancient oyster bed of bi-valveian beauty, loaded with silty clay, and granting the sort of minerality, complexity, and fidelity that makes Chablis the spiritual heart of Chardonnay in the souls of wine lovers the world over! YESSSSSS!!!!
The Bessons have a minuscule 1.4 hectare plot to call their own of this iconic Grand Cru, divided up between two exposures – one to the southwest, and one to the southeast. This grants balance to a site that can be vastly different from one exposure to the other, and ensures that regardless of the year – the opportunity for quality is never lost.
